How we check facts, source figures and keep content accurate across every page.
Quick answer
Every figure on Glasgow Solar City is checked against official sources such as Ofgem, MCS, TrustMark and SPEN, or confirmed directly with our installation partner. Pages carry a dated update line, are reviewed at least quarterly, and avoid unverifiable savings claims. Report an error by email and we aim to correct it within one working day.

Every figure on this site is sourced, dated and attributed. We do not invent facts to fill gaps, and we state plainly when something is unverified or awaiting confirmation.
How does Glasgow Solar City check its facts?
Every figure is verified against official sources — MCS standards, Ofgem guidance, installer pricing and DNO records — not press releases.
- Regulatory and scheme information (such as the Smart Export Guarantee) is checked against official Ofgem guidance, not against press releases or third-party summaries.
- Pricing is confirmed directly with the MCS-certified partner we install through, Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd (SC484353, MCS IAA10151).
- Generation yield ranges cite MCS MIS 3002 zone data for Glasgow (approximately 700–810 kWh of generation per kWp installed, annually).
- Export tariff rates are checked against individual supplier tariff pages. We never guarantee a rate.
- We do not publish savings estimates on public pages. Any projection for your home belongs in your personalised quotation, with its assumptions listed.
- DNO information (SPEN for Glasgow, SSEN for Highlands/Islands) is confirmed against the DNO boundary map.
How often is the content reviewed?
Pricing, regulatory and tariff information is reviewed at least quarterly, and every factual page carries a dated update line.
- Regulatory information (SEG, DNO rules, planning): reviewed against official sources at each content update, minimum quarterly.
- Pricing: confirmed with our installation partner at each content update.
- Export tariff rates: reviewed quarterly. Tariff pages link to supplier sources.
- Every factual page carries a “Last updated” date and a “Sources” attribution line.
What claims will Glasgow Solar City never make?
We never quote unverifiable savings claims, unsupported cleaning claims, finance terms or unconfirmed regulatory deadlines.
- We do not quote unverifiable savings claims or percentage savings.
- We do not state a solar cleaning output-recovery percentage. No measured UK soiling figure exists, and the leading European research finds cleaning is not cost-effective on energy yield alone in northern Europe.
- We do not quote finance terms (APRs, monthly figures, term lengths) on public pages. Finance available, subject to status. Credit is arranged through FCA-authorised finance partners, subject to status.
- We do not state Scottish regulatory deadlines (Heat in Buildings Bill) whose status is unconfirmed.
Which accreditations apply and who holds them?
MCS, TrustMark and Gas Safe registrations belong to our installation partner, not to Glasgow Solar City itself.
Glasgow Solar City is a sub-brand of Scottish Energy Efficiency (company number SC854865). We are a renewable energy consultancy and introducer service. We do not hold installer accreditations in our own right.
Installations are carried out by our accredited installation partner, Home Heating Services (Scotland) Ltd (SC484353) — MCS certified (IAA10151), TrustMark registered (3559930), Gas Safe registered (559575). We display these with the partner's express permission.
Where do the figures come from?
Figures are sourced from Ofgem, the Scottish Government, MCS and TrustMark official publications.
